Nikon 14-24mm f2.8 & 70-200mm f2.8 Reviews

Hi everyone and welcome back to the blog! We're still trying to work through all the video ideas you guys have been sending to us and here are two of the latest 'Lens Review' videos for you to see; with these finished, we've covered all of the lenses in the 'Nikon Pro Trilogy' but we're not done there; we've got more to come on these as time allows so stay tuned!

Today we have a look at both the Nikon, Nikkor 14-24mm 1:2.8G and the Nikon, Nikkor 70-200mm 1:2.8G VR-II Lenses. Again, with them being Pro Lenses, they are a little pricey but if you want the absolute best quality both in terms of photographic reproduction and build then there really is no comparison...

Continuing the theme, as with all the Nikon AF-S Pro lenses, the focus speed is simply phenomenal; So fast it's effectively instantaneous and always pin sharp on the selected focus point... The image reproduction is fantastic too - with pin sharp images from edge to edge, amazing, vibrant colour reproduction and beautiful bokeh when you open the aperture up and throw the background out! The 14-24mm does go a little soft in the corners when it's at 14mm and the aperture is wide open and there is a little vignetting on the 70-200mm when it's past around 175mm with the hood on but these issues are barely noticeable and easily fixed in the simplest photo manipulation software.

Check out the video reviews here and check out the sample photos at the end to get an idea of how these lenses perform in the 'real-world'!

Nikon 24-70mm Lens Review

Hi everyone and welcome back to the blog! We've been maxed out over the last couple of months working on new video reviews, photography tutorials and brainstorming a whole bunch of Cinema 4D, vRay and After Effects tutorials ideas too... It's been great trying to work through all the ideas we have and figuring out how best to make the videos for you guys!
To kick things off, we decided to do a video review of our 'mainstay' lens which we use virtually every time it comes to shooting some of our amazing & talented clients, the Nikon Nikkor 24-70mm 1:2.8G Pro Lens. Yes, it is a little on the expensive side (but what hunk of pro glass isn't?!) but if you are serious about your photography then this is arguably the best lens to start with...

It is pretty wide down at 24mm, especially on a Full Frame body if you have one and has good reach too at 70mm, making it a perfect 'all-rounder'. It's also light enough to carry round with you all day and not leave you in an exhausted heap on the sofa when you make it home (unlike the 70-200mm 1:2.8)! The focussing on all the Nikon AF-S Pro lenses is simply phenomenal; So fast it's effectively instantaneous and always pin sharp on the selected focus point... The 24-70mm is no exception! Image reproduction is fantastic too - with pin sharp images from edge to edge, amazing, vibrant colour reproduction and beautiful bokeh when you open the aperture up and throw the background out!
